Create, Publish & Promote

You do not need endless “content ideas.” Your Lodge already generates material every time it meets, teaches, serves, celebrates or participates in the community.

Build Around Five Content Pillars

PillarWhat Fits Here
CommunityLocal events, partnerships, history, civic participation, neighboring organizations.
Charity & ServiceFundraisers, volunteer work, causes, outcomes, thank-yous and impact.
FreemasonryHistory, values, symbolism, education and explanations for the public.
Your LodgeMembers, building, traditions, milestones, behind-the-scenes and fellowship.
EventsAnnouncements, reminders, live photos, recaps, results and next dates.

Use Real Photos When You Have Them

A real picture of your Brothers serving breakfast, cleaning a park, presenting a donation or participating in a local event usually tells your Lodge story better than a generic stock photo.

  • Use member and event photos for real Lodge activity.
  • Use stock imagery when you need an illustration and do not have a useful real photo.
  • Ask permission where appropriate and follow your jurisdiction’s policies for minors, private events and member privacy.
  • Keep a shared photo folder so good images do not disappear on one person’s phone.
  • Reuse strong photos when the context is different or enough time has passed.

Examples You Can Adapt

Replace the bracketed placeholders with your Lodge information. Keep the facts true to your Lodge and community.

CHARITY EXAMPLE: “Supporting our community is at the heart of our Lodge. This month our Brothers are supporting a local charitable effort and sharing how our neighbors can get involved.”

HISTORY EXAMPLE: “Our Lodge has deep roots in the community. Here is one piece of local history that helps explain how the Lodge and the community around it have grown together.”

MEMBER STORY EXAMPLE: “Every Brother has a story. Today we are introducing one of the members who helps make our Lodge activities and community work possible.”

EVENT EXAMPLE: “You’re invited to our next public Lodge event. Here is what is happening, when and where to join us, and what the event supports in our community.”

THANK-YOU EXAMPLE: “Thank you to everyone who joined us. We appreciate our members, volunteers, partners and neighbors who helped make the event possible and supported its purpose.”

Match the Format to the Story

FormatUse It For
Photo postPeople, charity work, events, community activity.
Short video / ReelQuick tours, event energy, short explanations, behind-the-scenes.
StoryTimely reminders, live updates, informal moments.
Text postSimple updates, questions, links and short explanations.
Blog / articleHistory, education, detailed stories, searchable evergreen material.
EmailDirect reminders, recaps and information that should not depend on an algorithm.

Publish, Then Promote

Posting on the Lodge page is only the first step. Ask where else the information belongs.

  • Tag partner organizations when the post is genuinely about them.
  • Share public events into appropriate local community groups where group rules allow it.
  • Submit events to community calendars.
  • Ask members to share important public posts from their own accounts.
  • Send newsworthy items to local publications or community pages.
  • Update the Lodge website so social media is not the only place the information exists.

Basic Do / Don’t

DODON’T
Use clear dates, locations and calls to action.Assume everyone already knows Masonic vocabulary.
Show real people and real work.Post private Lodge business publicly.
Respond like a human being.Argue with trolls or strangers for sport.
Give credit to partners and photographers.Use someone else’s content without permission or attribution.
Stay consistent with the Lodge name and basic identity.Create a different “brand” every time someone makes a flyer.
Proofread important event details.Delete legitimate criticism simply because it is uncomfortable.
